LYNX -- OWNER'S COMMENTS

Lynx is a very special horse.  His athleticism comes as  no surprise when you study his pedigree. He is talented in every discipline. As a sire he has the ability to refine a heavy mare and to give substance to a fine mare. The following picture illustrates this point as the horse on the left is out of a Clydesdale and the one on the right is out of a Thoroughbred.

He has character and charisma, to meet him is to be captivated by him. He has a lot of fans! Although he is a tall horse, people are always disbelieving of his height until they are standing right up close. I am 5'6" and fit him well. Lynx is light, powerful, energetic, willing, kind, -- a terrific partner!! It is these interior qualities, that are so hard to judge, that make a horse a truly fine progenitor. I'll let you decide. Chablis has produced 2 Premium foals. In 2005 she won the Equine Canada Young Riders Championship at Training Level.

He was Junior Champion at the Breeders Classic He is a 16.3 black gelding who is an elegant mover with a good work ethic. Laird competed Training level Dressage in 2003 with all scores in the high 60's and with scores no lower than 8 for movement. Laird won the Res. Championship for the Open First Level at the Pacific Regional Dressage Championships. At the Touch of Class show Laird won 4 classes at Third Level with a top score of 73.89%

LAWRENCE -- CHAMPION

Lawrence is a bay colt who is an excellent mover and is very correct. His new owners will be developing him as a Dressage horse. As a four year old he is 16:3 hh and still quite leggy. In 2005 Lawrence won his 4 yr old materiel classes at the Ottawa Spring Classic, with awesome comments from the judges. His next show the Blaneville CDI and National he was Open Training Champion with 3 scores in the 70's the top one a 76.9%

Dam -- Kira, bay, CWHBA Owner -- Nicolle Mitchell, BC Breeder -- Canterbury Farm Lira is a 16.1hh, 1995 bay gelding with a star, strip, snip and 4 stockings. He is the winner of the Yearling Futurity and other classes at the Breeders Classic 1996.

LORE -- CHAMPION

Dam -- Kira, bay, CWHBA Owner -- Mrs. Joanne Barbeau, BC Breeder -- Canterbury Farm He is a black colt born in 1998. Lore is an in hand winner of hunter and dressage type classes. At the 1999 Breeders Classic Lore won the Senior Champion Dressage Type Sport Horse and the Grand Championship. He is now schooling for jumping and dressage and is attracting a lot of attention. The attention has been increased by his performance in his first class at his first show on the first day. Lore won with a score of over 70% and several  9's on the test paper. Let's see what tomorrow brings. That day brought Championships and more 9's! Congratulations Joanne! Lore is awarded more 9's and a Res. Championship at SRC in 2003.

LALIQUE -- CHAMPION

Dam -- Kira, bay, CWHBA Owner --  Bill MacDonald, BC Breeder -- Canterbury Farm She is a dark bay mare born in 1997. Lalique is a CWHBA futurity winner. She is a wonderfully elastic and correct mover and has started training for Dressage and Eventing. Lalique won her first Horse Trials at Campbell Valley with a Dressage score of "72%" and with no jumping faults. Just to prove it was no accident the first time Lalique won her second Horse Trials with a "70%" Dressage score and was again clear on Cross Country and Stadium. Bill commented that she was solid and a delight to show. He is planning a move to a higher level for her third time out.

LEGEND

Dam -- Kira, bay, CWHBA Owner -- Mrs. Mayme Hausman, OH Breeder -- Canterbury Farm He is a black gelding with lovely white markings born in 2001. Legend has wonderful  movement for Dressage with lots of natural suspension. He should mature at approx 16:3  or 17hh. Mayme tells us that she is really enjoying him and that he is inquisitive, sensible and smart. "He is such a focused athlete and is developing a strong work ethic. My trainer loves his movement, mind and confirmation -- and I am truly enjoying him!" Legend won two firsts and the Championship at his first show as a 4 year old in October 2006.

He has competed at A Hunter shows and won Championships. Legato was ridden to a 2 place finish at the 2005 Thunderbird Opener in the CET Medal class. Legato has been sold and will continue to compete for his new owner.

Dam -- Kathreina, bay, KWPN Owner-- Janet Mulcaster, BC Breeder -- Canterbury Farm She is a 16.2 hh very attractive black filly with 3 small socks and a star, born in 1999. First place winner of the 2 year old fillies at the 2001 Breeders Classic. In her second competition she won 3 championships including the Grand Championship of the show. Lucinda has a quiet thinking attitude and is going very well in Dressage and is very fancy over fences.. .Lucinda has a wonderful loving temperament and learns very quickly and she is showing herself to be a top hunter prospect as well as a Dressage competitor.

Lees is an elegant colt with lofty movement and terrific athletic ability. Philip is now riding the 3 year old stallion with great success. Lees is now a Champion over fences and has a score of 68% in his first Dressage competition. He is leading his Warmblood Division and is now learning canter pirouettes. Lees competed in a Combined Training Show in January and won the Dressage as well as the Combined Training!

She is in training with Sharon Wells in Ruidoso New Mexico. In November 2005 Cassiopeia is standing 2nd in the State in the Long Stirrup Division.

Dam --  Stina, bay, TB Owner -- Mrs. Melody Hucal, BC Breeder-- Canterbury Farm He is a 1997 bay gelding. Louie is approx. 16.2hh. Louie is the winner of the 1997 CWHBA Foal Futurity. The judge, Dr. Gerd Lehman, was very pleased with him. He is now competing with daughter Carolyn and won a Jumper Championship in 2003 at SRC.

LUCAS -- CHAMPION

Dam -- Stina, bay, TB Owner -- Mrs. Lori Ritchie, BC Breeder -- Canterbury Farm He is a chestnut gelding with white markings born in 1999. Lucas was orphaned at 2 days old and was raised by a surrogate mother. Lucas won the Open Training Level Championship at his first competition in 2003 scoring 70% for his junior rider. Lucas and Tanya won at The Breeders Classic in 2003. 2004 has seen more wins for this talented pair who have also won a Bronze medal at the BC Summer games. At Thunderbird in 2006 Lucas won an Open Test of Choice with a 72%

Owner -- Jerry Carroll & Craig Pattee, Arizona Jerry comments that the filly was born a little down in her pasterns but has straightened right up and every day she becomes stronger. She scored an 8 in both type and movement in the 2001 Oldenburg Inspections. Katarina is entered in the Premium Mare Book. Now in 2005 at 5 years of age she has many excellent placings in Dressage with her Amateur rider.

Dam -- CISL, bay, Clydesdale Owner -- James Addison, BC Breeder -- Canterbury Farms Py was one of Lynx's test crop of 1991. The Clydesteiner was such a success we repeated this cross. He is a 16.3hh dark bay gelding with 4 stockings and very unusual dots on his face. The only thing difficult about this horse is finding the time to talk to all his fans. Pi has since gone on to win Jumper Championships.

Dam -- Rosette, Chestnut, CWHBA Owner -- Francesca Hawkins, Ontario Jaguar is a bay colt born in 2000 that Francesca says is a sensible sweet guy. Jaguar has grown in to a very handsome horse with lovely suspended movement. Francesca tells us that she has to hide him when buyers come to her farm as they always want him and he is definitely not for sale. Francesca has now sold all the other horses so that she has the time to enjoy her best friend.

Dam -- Raz Ma Taz, Chestnut, Hol Owner --Donna Wnuk, BC Breeder -- Debbie Nickel Luke is a chestnut gelding who is light on his front end and really uses his hind quarters wowing Dressage judges and Breeders. "When he jumps he stays straight, snaps up his knees and rounds beautifully." Donna plans to compete in the Hunters in 2005. Luke was baby green hunter Champion at Maple Ridge.

SHAMROCK -- CHAMPION

Dam -- Jamaica, dark brown, Unregistered Owner -- Lynne Pryce, PA Breeder -- Canterbury Farm She is a black mare with white markings, foaled in 1993. Shamrock has an impressive show record with limited experience. She won her first dressage competition with a score in the 70%'s and went on to win the Championship. Lynne says I "love her to bits especially her SPECIAL temperament". Lynne tells us that Shamrock is competing at 4th and PSG winning many Championships and High Scores. She will compete at Devon again in 2004.

SILVER LYNK -- CHAMPION

Dam -- She's a Hot Bunny, grey, Quarterhorse cross Owner/Breeder -- Alice Bosher, BC He, like his mother is a grey, foaled in 1996. Alice had a good year in 2003 for the first show season ending with Reserve Champion , Level 1,Victoria-Saanich Cadora, year end award and the Lower Island Equestrian Club, 2003 Senior Hi-Point Average. Silver Lynk is competing at 2nd Level in 2004 and doing well.

LEVI DE BASTILLE -- CHAMPION UNDEFEATED IN 2005

Dam -- Dantia, bay, Hanoveria Owner/Breeder-- Lise Burgher, BC Levi is a bay colt foaled in 2001 who has ventured to his first competition at the Breeders Classic. This 2 yr old now has several wins including a Futurity and the Sr Res Championship. Levi continues his winning way at Breeders Classic 2004. Levi scores 72% and 70% in his first Dressage schooling show. He also receives a 9 and a 10 for his performance. Levi and Lise have done it again with a 4 yr old Material Championship and a score of 88% At the Amherst Dressage show Levi was Champion again with scores of 68, 71, 72, 74, 75, 76%. He also received a 9 for gaits Levi won his class with a score of 75% at the BC Championships and was Champion at the Autumn Classic with more scores in the 70's Levi was the 2005 Jr Dressage Champion at Breeders Classic with a score of 75.77%. Thunderbird International saw more wins including a material class win with 80%. Levi remains undefeated in 2005!

LYNX'S CHARISMA -- CHAMPION UNDEFEATED IN 2004 &2005

Dam -- Fantan, Hanoverian Owner -- Sherry Kirsch Breeder -- Mr.& Mrs. Robert Kirsch, BC She is a bay filly foaled in 2001.          This has been a long time coming in being sent. This is my 4 year old Lynx/Hannoverian mare. She is 16.3 and has a mind of gold as well as movement for the dressage ring. This mare won all her halter classes last year as well as the year before. As a 3 year old she was Grand Champion as well went on to win best of show. She won Grand Champion this year competing against some of Germany's best bred stallion offspring. Welmeyer colt (which we also own) a gorgeous  Rotspon filly as well as a gorgeous Swedish gelding and many other nice horses. There are so many people that now want to breed to Lynx after seeing this mare. She is home bred and my parents gave her to me as I was in love with her from the second she was born. She is truly a gift like no other. She can never be sold as that was the only thing my parents requested. That makes her even more special because being a breeder I believe they all have a price on them but never on her. She will be shown in the 5 yr. old FEI division this year and will coming down that way for the B.C. championships this year so we will let you know how that goes. We hear that Lindberg is a very lovely mover and that he is jumping a meter 10 at all the "A" shows and could be jumping Grand Prix in 2 years with Susie Hutchinson

Dam -- Surpass, bay, TB Owner / Breeder -- Terrell Thompson, NH. Born April 15, 2002 Terrell tells us that the filly is much fancier than she was expecting. The filly is so elegant none of the names that she had picked out would suit her and it took a long time to find a name. Llyssian is great to work with and is doing better than much older foals. With her people friendly nature and her respectful attitude she is definitely the foal to visit.

LYNSEAN -- CHAMPION

Dam -- Streak, bay, TB Owner / Breeder -- John and Susan Lucas, WA. Born April 6, 2002 Lyncean is a liver chestnut filly with 4 socks and a round star. Susan tells us that Lynsean is gorgeous. She is very leggy, correct and refined. She has a calm friendly demeanor and is filling out beautifully. Linny's training is coming along and although she is sensitive she handles new experiences very well. Susan tells us that the filly went to the Oldenburg inspection and "was a real champ with everything from the travel and handling to the bathing, braiding and primping." "-- the judge commented on her beautiful movement and indicated that she had a lot of potential."" -- there was a lot of improvement on her dam." Lynsean scored 80 in her material class in Beaujolais in 2005. She was Grand Champion at Letter Perfect topping the boys!

Carolyn tells us that she is a wonderful mare with a friendly laid back disposition. Lucy had her first foal in 2006 and is bred back for next year. She will start training under saddle in 2008. Lucy has lovely movement and is very athletic. Carolyn thinks that she will be a great performance horse.

Elaine tells us that the really nice thing about Desi besides her personality is that "she seems to have picked up none of her mom's less attractive features." Desi has loads of presence and personality and is a beautiful mover. She is now being started under saddle and shows the potential to be a talented girl.

Dam -- Delia, Oldenburg, Dark Brown Owner / Breeder -- Dr. Judy Clappison, BC Black gelding born June 6, 2003 with four white stockings and a blaze. Lincoln scored 8.4 in his Oldenburg Keuring at 1 month of age. He loves his toys especially his milk jug filled with rocks.  Lincoln has correct conformation and is a very flashy mover. He stands approx 15.3 at 2 1/2 years old. Lincoln won the 2 year old hunter type class at the 2005 Breeders Classic and went on to win the Hunter Type Champion under Catharine Roy.

Dam -- Sparkling Joy, bay, TB Owner / Breeder -- Don & Cyndi Hammond, Alaska He is a chestnut colt with a lovely star and looks to have 4 white feet Cyndi tells us that she is amazed at how friendly and submissive he is. Alyaska was second in the Alberta Futurity in September 2004.

LUNA

Dam --Streak, bay, TB Owner/Breeder -- John & Susan Lucas, WA Bay fill is Streak's second Lynx foal and a full sister to Lynsean.. She is shown here on her birthday. We had the ISR/Oldenburg inspection today in Spanaway, WA.  Our Lynx foal Luna was inspected and she was named the Champion of the inspection!!!  She had a score of 8.4!!  She was just beautiful - during her trot, the spectators hushed, she was so lovely.  She rivaled any of the foals you might see on the east coast!  To top it all off she is a real trooper.  She stood nicely for her first bath, first clipping, and first braiding.  She got into the trailer and rode very well.    What a lovely legacy for Lynx!  We will be keeping Luna to breed and show.  Thanks so much for all you've given us with Lynx.  I will have some pictures of the inspection in a few days, I'll send you a couple of the best.
